5-Day Central Pacific Road Trip: Jacó & Manuel Antonio from SJO

A compact route with an arrival condition
This five-day version assumes an early enough SJO arrival to reach Jacó comfortably after the rental handover. If the flight arrives late, replace the first Jacó night with an airport stay and simplify the trip, or add a day.
Do not squeeze a late arrival into an itinerary designed for a full first day.
Day 1: SJO to Jacó
Review the Route 27–Route 34 connection and leave time for a meal. Reach Jacó, check in and enjoy a simple evening. Keep surf or adventure reservations for later rather than committing the arrival afternoon.
Confirm the accommodation's parking so you can leave the car and walk where appropriate.
Day 2: Jacó to Manuel Antonio
Choose a relaxed morning, then continue south toward Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Stay two nights. Allow time for the final hilly road and hotel check-in.
If you want a substantial Jacó activity, add a night instead of treating it as a quick stop before another fixed booking.
Day 3: National park day
Use the official SINAC system to reserve the park for this full day. Confirm current entry rules and keep parking, admission and guide arrangements distinct.
Leave the afternoon free for rest or the beach according to conditions. Humidity and walking can make a full morning enough.
Days 4–5: Return toward SJO
On Day 4, return to the Central Valley with a flexible meal stop and stay near the airport. Keep enough daylight for traffic and the last hotel approach.
Day 5 is for refueling, rental return and departure. This is a short holiday; reducing optional stops usually improves it more than adding another destination.
