Count bags alongside people

A seven-seat vehicle can lose much of its luggage space when every row is occupied. A group with seven large suitcases needs a different assessment from a group carrying small backpacks.

Ask for usable luggage capacity with all required seats upright. Do not rely on a photo showing the rear seats folded.

Consider the roads and parking

A larger vehicle changes turning space, parking and the experience on narrow roads. Confirm that every hotel has suitable access and somewhere practical to unload.

If a property has a steep rough driveway, the vehicle choice must account for that requirement too. A van's capacity does not establish that it can reach every lodge.

Compare one vehicle with two

Two vehicles can provide flexibility when the group wants different activities, but require authorized drivers, coordinated navigation and appropriate bookings. One vehicle keeps the group together but may need a larger category.

Compare the full practical arrangement rather than just the daily headline price. Ask about the actual available categories before building the itinerary around an assumed model.

Prepare a group handover

Choose one person to coordinate documents and another to check the luggage list. Confirm all drivers and any child equipment before collection.

Leave enough time to inspect the vehicle, understand controls and secure the load. Keep aisles, exits and sight lines clear, and choose realistic transfer days with breaks for the whole group.
